The Lady Lions started off the ICSAA Regional with a bang as they won two straight sets to win a best out of 3 against Lakeview Christian. Tatum Kovell was strong for the Lions with 3 Aces along with Emily Montefiori who had 3 kills on a .60 hitting percentage.
The Lady Lions had a tough task, however, playing in a game 40 minutes after their win against a Legacy Christian team who had given them fits during the season. The Lady Lions battled early in a back and forth first set, but Legacy Christian began to pull away late in the set. The second set was all Legacy as it seemed fatigue clearly began to set in for the Lady Lions after having just played.
Charis Day ended her Senior season with 2 kills and a .40 hitting percentage, Emily Montefiori had 3 kills on a .30 hitting percentage, Hannah Vincent contributed 4 assists, and Zoe Collins pitched in 5 digs. Missing in action was senior Draven Pringle, who was out due to injury.
The Lady Lions truly battled and gave it their all in what was a tough season due to COVID-19 not allowing for a true pre-season or team building. The Lady Lions look to return to form next year keeping some experience, but gaining a lot of youthful talent.
