Anderson, IN – Horizon Christian School’s Varsity Baseball team embarked on their first game in over 4 years.They traveled to play Liberty Christian School, a Class 1A IHSAA high school, in Anderson.

Nerves were expected and evident in the first couple of innings as the Liberty Christian Lions took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st Inning.

In the 2nd inning, starting pitcher, Mason Burzynski, started to find his groove as he held Liberty Christian scoreless into the 5th. Meanwhile, the Horizon Lions bats began to wake up and tied the score at 3-3 heading into the top of the 5th.

When the Lions stepped up to bat in the bottom of the 5th, everything changed. The Lions went on a tear scoring 6 runs in the 5th, 3 in the 6th and 9 in the 7th.

Needless to say, their bats came alive.

Mason Burzynski came in and closed the final two innings.

Ethan Harrison scored 5 runs, Moise Yoder and Asher Harrison both scored 3 runs respectively.

The Lions will travel tomorrow at 10 am to play the Liberty Lions once again at the Historic Memorial Ballpark in Anderson.
