Multiple Teams · Horizon revamping 3 programs this Spring

Horizon Christian School is revamping 3 programs this Spring. Softball, Baseball, and Track and Field. Softball was slated to play last year, but was shut down due to the  COVID-19 pandemic. Baseball and Track and Field have not made an appearance for Horizon since 2015.

God has blessed Horizon with amazing coaches who are volunteering their time to see these programs  build a solid foundation that will help them become the best versions of themselves.

Tiffany Featherson is a former Grace College Softball player who is ranked #10 in the schools history for hits in a career. She brings an enthusiasm and youthfulness that really resonates with the girls. In addition to being a strong leader for Christ, she is also in her first year teaching art for the school and is excited to continue what has been a historically strong program for Horizon.

Softball opens their season on April 10th with a Double Header, at home, against Calumet Christian.

Mike Lymberopoulos is a former Indiana Wesleyan pitcher who has played the game of baseball since he was 5 years old. He has played in a number of Men’s semi-professional leagues including some time in St. Louis. He is now enrolled at Calvary Chapel Bible College and is ecstatic to be reigniting the baseball program at Horizon. He brings a strong, yet nurturing presence to the field and is excited to build leaders for Christ who can also throw the ball around the yard.

Baseball opens their season against Tindley Accelerated Academy on April 8th.

Kristen McGaughey is a former Indiana Wesleyan Cross Country/Track and Field runner. She has a very long history at Horizon as her and her husband, Jordan, have been heavily involved in youth and young adult ministry for over 15 years. She is a well acclaimed wedding photographer and also works in marketing for the school. She has mentored numerous youth over the years and is excited to tackle this new role as Head Coach over Track and Field. She is beyond pleased with the progress that the athletes have made in only 2 weeks of practices and has really high hopes for the program in it’s first year back!

Track will be featuring a Jr. High and High School team. Jr. High opens up on the 22nd of April at Eastern Hancock and High School will open up at the North Montgomery Charger Relays in Crawfordsville on the 16th of April.
